The Athanor Academy follows in the tradition of pioneers in the performing and dramatic arts such as Stanislavski and Meyerhold, Artaud and Piscator, Grotowski and Schechner, Brook and Bausch. The training provides a solid artistic craft to professionally engage in today's and future media forms. At the same time, students learn to find and present their own performative expressions in more experimental forms of theater.
Students learn and work here under production conditions and stage up to 20 productions* per year. They are supported and supervised by international lecturers and guest lecturers. Among the lecturers are, for example, Edith Buttingsrud Pedersen (Denmark), Josef Maria Krasanovsky (Austria), Philip Brehse (USA), Dr. Florin Vidamski (Romania), and Daniel Christensen (Bavaria).
Thus, in three theaters with up to 120 seats each, theatrical influences from around the world find their home. There are no dusty performances to be found here!
