The Höllgasse with its densely built old town houses ranks at number 5 of #passaufotospots. This so-called “artist alley” offers several different photogenic places. If you just take a picture of it from outside the alley, you will capture the beautifully painted cobblestones, decorative connecting arches and the uneven course of the alley.
Tips for the perfect photo:
- Light: Capturing the perfect light in this narrow alley, which runs from west to east, is difficult. There may be little sunlight in the alley itself, but the intersecting streets bring light into it - which offers a magical view. (Click here to see the sun’s course during the day)
- View of the town hall: Capture the town hall tower on your photo by standing in the back part of the alley facing east. The houses built the frame for a view of the face of the historic town hall clock.
- Fresh colour: The German artist’s association Künstlervereinigung AGON e.V. paints the alley’s cobblestones in beautiful colours every spring. Furthermore, different art objects on particular topics are hung up on ropes between the houses. This is the best time to take pictures! (Take a look on AGON’s website)
