Every city should be looked at from the top. Marvel at Passau from the mountain Oberhausberg. Many posted pictures: This is why the view from the Oberhaus ranks at number 9 of our #passaufotospots.
There are two popular spots for taking pictures: the observation platform not far from the parking area and the so-called Batterie Linde within the castle area of the Veste Oberhaus. Both spots offer a wonderful panorama of Passau. The special topography of THE_CITY_OF_THREE_RIVERS can be observed particularly well from here. And: From up here, it becomes apparent how many green areas surround the city. You can also see the neighbouring Austria from up here.
Tips for the perfect photo:
- Light: There is always good lighting up here. Even on cloudy days, you are able to take beautiful pictures, as the colourful buildings of the Altstadt make up for that. (Click here to see the sun’s course during the day)
- View of the three rivers: From the Batterie Linde, you can take one photo of all three rivers. This former artillery platform has a favourable position for capturing the natural spectacle of all three differently coloured rivers in one photo.
- Broad view: Wide-angle lenses are the perfect gadget to photograph the whole dimension of Passau. Danube’s curve and the green hills all around contribute to a striking photo motif.
